Dear friends,

I hope that you are doing well with the summer heat and with keeping safe and healthy during this strange and scary time. Here at Mother of God we are trying to be as present to you as we can. We are still holding Masses on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, at 12:05 pm and at 9:30 am and 11:30 am on Sundays. These are live-streamed on our parish website and are archived on both the website and on Facebook.

Some of you have expressed ongoing concerns about attending Mass, and I truly want you to be as cautious as possible, especially those who are in a high risk category. There is no obligation to attend Mass at this time. We are insisting that wearing a mask at Mass is mandatory. This comes from the State of Kentucky, from the Diocese of Covington, and from us here at Mother of God. We do not want anyone who would like to attend Mass to be afraid to do so because of people not wearing masks. Virtually everyone in the past few weeks has been wearing their mask here at Mother of God. Thank you for your cooperation in this and for your consideration for your fellow parishioners.

Please remember to give to the Diocesan Parish Annual Appeal, if you have not already done so. My understanding is that the parish goals set by the diocese are still in place and must be met. Our parish goal for this year is $48,500. Last year we went over the goal by more than $60,000, which came back to the parish and was very helpful in meeting our parish expenses.

Know that I pray for you every day, and I ask for your prayers for me.

May God bless and keep all of you in the palm of his hand.
