we are pilgrims on a journey

The Abbey of Gethsemane, Bardstown, KY
This Tuesday, July 8, a group of people from Mother of God will be making a pilgrimage to the Holy Land of Kentucky. This is the Bardstown area, where Catholicism first took root in Kentucky. Bardstown was the seat of the first Kentucky diocese, eventually giving birth to the Archdiocese of Louisville, the Diocese of Owensboro, and the Diocese of Covington. The Diocese of Lexington was only formed a few years ago.

We will visit St. Joseph Church, the first Cathedral west of the Alleghanies, The Abbey of Gethsemane and the Monastery of Gethsemane, the birthplace of Abraham Lincoln, as well as My Old Kentucky Home. We will attend the musical production of My Old Kentucky Home, as well.

Please pray for us and we will pray for you.
