interested in becoming catholic?

The process for becoming Catholic is called the Order of Christian Initiation (OCIA), formerly the Rite of Christian Initiation (RCIA). It involves education in the Catholic faith and a series of rituals that initiate the individual into the Church.
There are three primary groups who make up the OCIA—catechumens, candidates, and baptized but uncatechized adults. Catechumens are those who have not been baptized in any other denomination. Candidates have been baptized in another denomination but now want to enter the Catholic Church. Baptized but uncatechized Catholics were baptized as children but were not raised in the Church and never made their First Communion or Confirmation.
