Mother of God Parish was privileged to welcome the people of Greater Cincinnati and beyond through its doors during BLINK Cincinnati 2026, the largest art and projection-mapping festival in the country. For four nights, Oct. 8-11, volunteers staffed our east, west and north parking lots, distributed self-guided tour flyers and sold MoG merchandise at our special-for-this-event gift shop in front of the Pieta statue. Meg Booker was also on hand to perform on the Koehnken & Grimm pipe organ.
The church exterior featured three different illuminations under the title "Mother of God Church Experience." They were: Horizon by Leslie Epsztein; Shhhh by Jeremy Oury; and Heritage by Jeremie Bellot. The projections animated the building, so it appeared to be rising and falling, rimmed by lightning and made of stained glass. All the imagery was synchronized with a complementary audio track.
This was not Mother of God's first time as a BLINK attraction. We first were invited to participate in 2022 and the church became a fan favorite. This year, we were rated one of the top must-see illuminations of the event.
BLINK Cincinnati 2026 was expected to draw over 2 million visitors, so it provided us with a tremendous opportunity to let people know who we are as a parish and as a historic landmark filled with world-class art.
