The Children's Liturgy of the Word returns to Mother of God this Sunday, Sept. 27, at the 11:30 am Mass. This popular program was a staple of our parish for many years until COVID shut it down, along with everything else.
As life returned to normal, many of you asked if we could bring it back, but it took awhile to find volunteers who were willing and able to lead that effort. Fortunately, Stacey Moorhead has stepped up to bring this valuable ministry back to life.
Children, ages 3 (who are potty trained) through 2nd grade, are invited to participate. As we begin the Liturgy of the Word, Fr. Comer will invite the children to come forward. They will then go to the undercroft with two Virtus-trained and compliant adult volunteers, assisted by high-school volunteers. The children will hear the Sunday readings and Gospel in an age-appropriate, engaging way through discussion, prayer, and activities. Children will return upstairs after the readings and homily to rejoin their families for the remainder of Mass.
