scenes from a courtyard
The west-side courtyard bordered by the church, the rectory and the St. Aloysius Center/parish offices feels like a little oasis in the middle of an urban asphalt landscape. With its trickling fountain, seasonal blooms and lush foliage, it invites visitors to sit for a while on the wrought iron benches and meditate a bit. Or you can study the names on the engraved pavers that honor parishioners past and present who have helped make Mother of God the community it is today.
The courtyard has come in handy for parish gatherings over the years, especially since the conversion of the St. Aloysius Center into parish offices has effectively taken two meeting rooms out of operation. The Young Adult Group especially uses it for various activities, such as pumpkin carving, cookouts and movie nights.
We are fortunate to have such a beautiful space on our grounds. Take a look at our gallery of photos from past celebrations.
