Last Sunday we began the 2025 Diocesan Parish Annual Appeal with the video from Bishop Iffert. The theme for this year is “Pilgrims of Hope, Missionaries of Mercy.” The first phrase based on the theme of the Jubilee Year, and the second phrase is based on the Year of Mercy designated by Bishop Iffert.
    
The DPAA supports some of the most important ministries of our diocese, which are intended to express the mercy of God and to give hope to those who are suffering the most in our midst. This year our parish goal is $63,800. The donations which are over the diocesan goal return to the parish for our use. This year we need to pay for the repairs being done to the front porch of the church. After 150 years, the tile on the one level has settled to the point that water pools on them, and in the winter often freezes. It absolutely needs to be replaced. The total cost will be around $60,000. We hope to be able to cover that cost from the rebates from the DPAA.
    
This Sunday, April 6, is Commitment Sunday. We will fill out the pledge cards or you may take a card home to fill out and drop in the collection basket next Sunday.
