Last week was Commitment Sunday for the Diocesan Parish Annual Appeal. If you have not made a pledge yet we ask that you do so soon. In addition to the diocesan goal of $63,800 for Mother of God, any money that comes in above that goal returns to the parish.
    
This year we plan to use the DPAA funds that come back to Mother of God to pay for the repairs taking place on the front porch of the church. The estimated cost of those repairs will be around $60,000. Our church is over 150 years old, and the sand and stone beneath the one layer of the porch has settled. The large step has settled as a result, and water pools on top of the step. In winter, that water freezes and become a serious hazard. The work being done will eliminate that problem.
