dpaa will help pay for new sound system

Next Sunday, March 15, is Announcement Sunday for the DPAA. We will show the DVD from Bishop Iffert at that time.

The theme for this year is, “Live as Children of the Light,” drawn from the Gospel for that day, when Jesus heals the man born blind. To live as children of the light is to live according to faith in Jesus, and to follow His commands that we are to love one another. We can do this through the Diocesan Parish Annual Appeal, which funds many very important ministries:
  • Food kitchens
  • Food pantries
  • Shelters for the homeless
  • Thomas More University
  • Inner-city schools
  • Hispanic ministry
  • Family Life and Pro-life Offices
  • ...and many others.

You will receive information in the mail, including a pledge card which you can fill out and return to the parish, or mail in to the diocese. On March 15, we will also have pledge cards in the pews that you can fill out here. Or skip the paper and make your pledge online.

Our parish goal for the DPAA this year is $70,900.  Remember that every cent that comes in over the parish goal stays in the parish. It does not fall under the tax that all other income faces, so it remains 100% at Mother of God.

We are still battling with the insurance company over the cost of replacing our sound system that was destroyed by the lightning strike a few months ago. Our insurance will fall significantly short of the cost of replacement, so the DPAA rebates will be important for our ability to pay for that.

Prayerfully consider making a significant contribution to the DPAA. If you can increase your donation from previous years, that would be wonderful. If you have not given in the past, we would gratefully appreciate you joining in the support of the DPAA.

New! Parish Participation Goal

New for this year is a Parish Participation goal. Every household is invited to take part because every gift—no matter the size—truly matters and helps form hearts in stewardship. We especially hope to welcome a new generation of donors who have never given before, encouraging them to begin with whatever they can.
