"i baptize you..."
Last Sunday, May 4, Mother of God welcomed Eileen Michels into the Catholic Church at the 11:30 am Mass. After receiving the sacraments of Baptism and Confirmation, she was greeted with a round of enthusiastic applause. Just a short time after, she received her First Holy Communion.
Eileen was unable to attend the Easter Vigil a few weeks ago for her initiation because she was out of the country.
After Mass, there was a reception in the church hall for Eileen and all the candidates and catechumens who were welcomed into the Church at the Easter Vigil. Because the liturgy started so late, there wasn't time to celebrate together that evening.
Everyone at Mass was invited downstairs for sandwiches, chips and cake. It was a great opportunity to congratulate our newest Catholics for taking this exciting step in their journey of faith.
