St. Kateri Tekakwitha

Katari Tekakwitha is the first Native American saint. She became known as the Lilly of the Mohawks. She was baptized at 19. She lived a devout life giving herself completely to Christ.
When she was a child there was a smallpox epidemic. It took the lives of her parents and two brothers and left her seriously scarred and mostly blind. When she died, her smallpox scars faded away within minutes.

St. Bonaventure
Bonaventure (Good Journey) was an early Franciscan priest. He was a brilliant theologian. In the large eastern window in Mother of God Church, (our Immaculate Conception window) Bonaventure is the bishop on the lower left. He is one of the Church leaders who promoted the doctrine of the Immaculate Conception.
