St. Teresa of Calcutta

Friday, Sept. 5, is the feast of St. Teresa of Calcutta. Teresa is certainly the most popular of all the modern saints. Her inspiring life has impacted almost all of us in some way. She embodied the Gospel in remarkable ways, especially living out Matthew 25, in which Jesus tells us, “Whatsoever you did for the least of My brothers and sisters, you did for Me.” Beginning in Calcutta, and then throughout the world, including the Diocese of Covington, Mother Teresa founded houses of the Missionaries of Charity, where the poorest of the poor could come for food, and especially where they could be taken to die.
