We welcome Fr. Jay Von Handorf to Mother of God Church this Sunday at the 11:30 am Mass, as he celebrates the 50th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood. Fr. Jay has lived a very interesting life as a priest, serving first in the Diocese of Covington, and then, after the Diocese of Lexington was established, serving in that diocese. He served for many years as a missionary in Cali, Columbia, and upon returning to the Diocese of Lexington, he served in the mountain missions of that diocese. Having retired, Fr. Von Handorf is working in Alaska in the missions there.
   
Father grew up at St. Augustine Parish in Covington and had a celebration there yesterday. His family has made Mother of God Church their parish, so he wanted to celebrate Mass here as well.
