The Fourth Sunday of Easter is popularly known as Good Shepherd Sunday. The readings speak of Jesus as the Good Shepherd, although in the Gospel, Jesus speaks of Himself as the gate to the sheepfold. The image of Jesus is perhaps the most gentle and loving picture we are given of Him. In more modern times, it has evolved into the images of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and that of Jesus as Divine Mercy.
