nku performance delights audience
Those who attended Thursday’s NKU Choral Concert were treated to a truly fine musical evening at Mother of God Church. From the very first note, the sanctuary was filled with breathtaking harmony as four distinct choral ensembles—the Northern Chorale, Norsekor, Women's Choir and Chamber Choir, under the direction of Professor Katie Barton and Dr. Adam White—presented an inspiring 90-minute program featuring nearly 20 works from the choral repertoire.
The evening offered far more than beautiful choral singing. Audience members were also treated to spectacular performances by eight soloists representing both vocal and instrumental artistry, including our very own Meg Booker. It was especially meaningful to welcome Meg back, as she had been a member of the NKU choral program during her student years just a few years ago. Following the opening performance by the combined choirs, she warmly introduced the ensemble, setting the tone for the memorable night that followed.
From beginning to end, the concert was a gift to the senses. Soaring voices, rich harmonies, and moments of delicate musical intimacy filled the church with an atmosphere of joy and reverence. The program concluded with an electrifying performance of I’ll Be on My Way. As the final notes rang through the sanctuary, the audience rose as one to offer a heartfelt standing ovation.
The experience left everyone uplifted and grateful… truly music to everyone’s ears.
