OCIA classes start sept. 2

The Catholic Church provides a process known as the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA, formerly known as RCIA) for those who over the age of nine to become Catholic. It is a process of catechesis (education in the Catholic faith, as well as certain rites and prayers to help them process.

There are three categories for those seeking entrance into the Church:
  1.  Catechumens—those who have never been baptized into any denomination
  2. Candidates—those baptized in another Christian denomination, but who now wish to become full members of the Catholic Church, and
  3. Baptized, but uncatechized Catholics—those baptized as children but not raised in the Church.

Our OCIA sessions will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 2, and they will run every Tuesday from 6:30-8 pm. Anyone who is interested in learning more about these sessions is encouraged to call Fr. Comer at 859-816-3198 for more information.
