oktoberfest shines light on german heritage

Mother of God parish paid tribute to its German heritage last Sunday, Oct. 18, during our annual Oktoberfest celebration. Brats, sauerkraut, German potato salad and Bavarian crème puffs were on the menu, accompanied by iced tea, lemonade and beer.

The Ein Stein German Band kept everyone’s toes tapping as they played polkas and other favorites, including the prerequisite chicken dance.

Thank you to Donna Kinnemeyer and to all the volunteers who helped make this annual gathering a success. And special thanks to Maureen Eiting who has organized our Oktoberfest celebration for the past several years.
