Joshua Heskamp to be ordained
This Saturday at 10 am, at our Cathedral, Bishop Iffert will ordain Deacon Josh Heskamp to the priesthood. Deacon Heskamp is the nephew of Fr. Jeff Von Lehman, pastor of St. Patrick Church in Taylor Mill. All are invited to the ordination.
We have seen a drop in the number of seminarians and ordinations over the past few years. This has not reached the crisis point that we see in Cincinnati, but we are only a few years behind them. Please include prayers for vocations to the priesthood, the religious life, and the permanent diaconate, but especially for more priests. Parishes do not get closed because there are not enough sisters or deacons, but they do close when there are not enough priests to provide Masses, confessions, and Anointings of the Sick.
