week two: the life of st. peter

I have begun a new series of talks, made up of four weeks of reflections on St. Peter. We are touching on a number of scenes about Peter in the Gospels and the Acts of the Apostles. Peter is the most human and most relatable of all the characters in the New Testament, and the events of his life give us an opportunity to reflect on our own lives and our own relationship with Christ.

This week we will look at Peter’s confession of faith, Jesus’ declaration of Peter as the leader of the Church and the giving of the Keys to the Kingdom, Jesus’ prediction of the Passion, and Peters rebuke (“Get behind me Satan, you are trying to make me trip and fall.”)

We will meet at 10:30 am and at 6:30 pm in church.
