rite of sending marks milestone in faith journey
This year's class of catechumens and candidates at Mother of God has been diligently preparing to enter into the Church at the Easter Vigil on April 19. Lent is a particularly special time for them, as they spiritually prepare for the reception of the Easter sacraments.
Last Sunday at the 11:30 am Mass, we held a ceremony—the Rite of Sending—to recognize their preparations. Then we sent them to Bishop Iffert to participate in the Rite of Election later that afternoon for the Rite of Election, where they were officially accepted to come into the Church at Easter.
Our Elect and their sponsors are:
Aaron Batson will also be confirmed at the Easter Vigil, but he did not participate in the Rite of Election because he has already been catechized.
We welcome all these individuals into our worship community, and we offer them our full support in their spiritual journey.
