sound system gets good reviews

Aaron Duesing at work on the old Allen & Heath console. The new board has touch screen technology and is more compact.
We've received lots of positive comments about the new sound system. Ovation Audio was on site last Sunday at both the 9:30 and 11:30 am Masses to make adjustments to the sound for maximum intelligibility and assist the sound board operators in getting comfortable with the new setup.

The new system is designed like the old one, with a simple system for weekdays and the 9:30 Mass on Sunday, when there is either no music or a single vocalist in the choir loft accompanied by the organ (which needs no amplification). A more complex system is used during the 11:30 am Sunday Mass that employs many more channels for multiple instruments and voices, as well as in-ear monitors for each musician.

The complex system also allows us to accommodate guest artists who perform at Mother of God, e.g., Emmet Cahill, Sara Kroger, etc. and makes our space more attractive as a concert venue. It will definitely be an asset in helping us build our reputation as a cradle of the arts.
