The installation of our new sound system is underway. The new E.A.W. speakers have been mounted, replacing the Meyer line arrays that were used previously. (Meyer no longer manufactures this type of speaker.) You have to look closely to see the difference.

Ovation Audio will continue working next week, starting each day immediately after the 12:05 pm Mass. On Thursday, June 11, the church will be closed (no Mass that day) for the tuning of the system. This entails making sure the speakers are digitally steered for the best coverage in the room and the highest degree of intelligibility and fidelity.

After that, technicians from Ovation will be present at select weekly and Sunday Masses and the Contemporary Ensemble's rehearsal to ensure that the sound is well-balanced and everything is working properly.

It's been a long wait, but in the end, it will be worth it. Mother of God will once again have a sound system that is well-equipped to support the proclamation of the spoken Word and our reputation as a cradle of the arts.
