Sound system update: speaker demo completed

We continue to work toward restoring our sound system following the massive lightning strike on Nov. 18.

This past Wednesday, Dec. 17, representatives from Ovation Audiovisual set up a speaker demonstration to help us choose which speakers are the right fit for our space. Primarily, we listened for tonal quality to determine which speaker had the richest fidelity for both the spoken word and music. Both are important to our mission of proclaiming the Gospel and positioning our parish as a "cradle of the arts."

Additionally, these speakers have been identified by the system designer as having the required capacity for sound coverage of the church. The panel, which included Fr. Mike Comer, Aaron Duesing, Cindy Duesing, Vic Canfield and Paul Sketch, came to a unanimous agreement on a speaker manufactured by E.A.W.

The speakers we currently have are made by Meyer, Inc., but the company no longer makes line array columns like these anymore.

We'll keep you posted on further developments as they happen.
