Rest in peace, Teresa Bowman

Teresa Ann Bowman was well-known to the Mother of God parish community. She was often in the sanctuary serving Mass or in the sacristy making sure there were enough hosts for communion and that the right vestments were set out.

Said Fr. Mike Comer, "When I came to Mother of God nine years ago, Teresa was our parish sacristan. She set up the Masses and took care of the sacristy. Teresa was always very helpful and supportive to me. She knew the needs of every liturgy and anticipated me in providing for all of them. She was very proud of the work that she did, and she did it with great dedication."

Teresa died peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, June 10. Born on Feb. 20, 1955, she lived in Covington and enjoyed traveling and spending time with family. A friend fondly recalled that although Teresa was quiet, she was often the instigator of mischief, especially in her younger years, which made for great memories.

Teresa's loved ones gathered at Mother of God on Wednesday, June 17, for a Memorial Mass. She donated her body to UC Health, so the service was not a funeral. Donations in Teresa's memory can be made to Mother of God Church or the Sisters of Divine Providence, Melbourne, KY.

Please keep Teresa and her family in your prayers.
