you can make a difference

Our parish purpose statement contains the tenet that we will "welcome the stranger with love and compassion." Here's a chance to put those words into action.

The Kentucky Refugee Ministry (KRM) is located directly across from Mother of God Church’s west parking lot in the alley. They could use MoG volunteers to help vetted refugees who have been settled in Northern Kentucky. Some of the volunteer opportunities include:
  • Providing rides to doctor appointments and job interviews
  • Teaching refugees how to use TANK
  • Mentoring adults and youth
  • Acting as English practice partners
  • A host of other one-time or ongoing opportunities.

KRM is the agency that we worked with several years ago when we agreed to sponsor an Afghanistan refugee family. If you have questions about volunteering, email Mini Masih at MMasih@kyrm.org. If you want to sign up for an orientation go to kyrm.org/registration. Volunteer orientations are held monthly.
