get out and vote

Pope Leo XIV made history this month as the first pontiff to vote in a US general election. He submitted his mail-in ballot ahead of the mid-term election that takes place this Tuesday, Nov. 3, throughout the country. He did this, despite a frightening diagnosis and major surgery to remove a cancerous nodule from his lung. But the Vatican stated that the pope has "a long-standing belief in civic participation," and the "right and duty of citizens to participate in democratic processes."

At Mother of God, we, too, have a deep understanding of the importance of exercising our right to choose local, state and federal leadership who will represent the people of this country with wisdom, integrity and compassion. So, please, follow Pope Leo's example and vote. If you'd like to read more about the candidates, Link NKY has published its NKY Election Headquarters that provides sample ballots for Boone, Campbell and Kenton Counties, candidate profiles, and an explanation of various public offices' roles and how they function. They will also be posting election results at this site.
