welcome to our new catholics

Members of the Elect bow their heads during the Scrutiny at Mass during Lent.
At the Easter Vigil this weekend, on Saturday night, we have several men and women who have joined the Catholic faith, receiving the Sacraments of Initiation. These are: Donnie Cunningham, Josie Godfrey, Kristina Snyder, and Bill Brennen.
In addition, Will St. Onge, who was baptized Catholic as a child, but did not grow up in the Church, was confirmed, and made his First Communion.
Two of Donnie and RobAnn Cunningham’s children, Cathryn and Clark, made their First Holy Communion.
One other young man, Aaron Batson, may have been confirmed as well, but as I write this, I am still waiting on permission from Bishop Iffert to confirm him. He was baptized Catholic and received First Communion at the usual time but has not been confirmed. Normally the bishop confirms adults at Pentecost. But we have asked to have him confirmed with the OCIA class.
This is the largest OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults) class we have had at Mother of God Church in a while. It is good to see so many who wish to join our faith community.
