you could save a life

Have you ever wondered what you would do if someone suffered a cardiac emergency in the pew next to you? Or in the parking lot or the church hall? Aside from calling 911, what would your next steps be to assist the stricken individual?

The time to address this question is now, before such an emergency arises. The American Heart Association offers courses in basic life support. Check out their website for more information.

It's also important to know that there are two Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) here at Mother of God Church. AEDs automatically diagnose the person's heart rhythm and determine if a shock is needed. Even an untrained person can use the AED to save a life by following the device's audio and visual instructions.
  • The first AED is located in the credenza next to the Pieta statue on the West side in the back of church. There is a label on the door identifying the location.
  • The second AED is located at the bottom of the stairs leading to the undercroft - just to the left.

To help you remember in an emergency, please check both locations.
