transformation stirs curiosity

If you attended Mass at Mother of God on Friday, April 5, you may have noticed that our lovely statue of St. Patrick underwent a metamorphosis of sorts. The ancient Celtic bishop seemed to closely resemble our own Irish pastor, Fr. Mike Comer.

Was it a miraculous vision? A trick of the eye caused by faulty lighting?

No, it was a belated April Fool's prank, thanks to the shenanigans of David Ziser and Vic Canfield who had been planning the gag for months. When their plot was disrupted by Fr. Mike's illness, they decided to change things up and use their idea as a way to welcome him home and lift his spirits. When Fr. Mike saw it, he had a good laugh, which is always the best medicine.

It seems the beloved saint was also seen at the nearby Cathedral.
