diocese shines spotlight on communication

“The biggest misconception about communication is that it has already taken place.”

Good communication is at the heart of every successful relationship. Without it, marriages fail, businesses flounder and governments are rendered ineffective.

At Mother of God, establishing solid communication among staff and parishioners is a crucial part of our sustainability priority. Put simply, it’s easier for people to feel like they have a stake in a community if they know what’s going on and how they can help.

This priority is in line with the goals of the diocese, which hosted its first-ever meeting of parish social media managers on April 9 at the Curia. According to Deacon Jim Fortner, Bishop Iffert wants to connect communicators from across the diocese to help them learn from each other and build efficiencies where possible. He also wants to increase the diocese’s social media presence, recognizing that it is a critical evangelization tool for this generation.
