covington catholic celebrates 100 years

It was a homecoming of sorts on Friday, Aug. 23, when hundreds of Covington Catholic students, staff, and friends gathered at Mother of God to celebrate the school's 100th anniversary. Bishop Iffert was the principal celebrant of the Mass, with support from numerous priests and deacons from around the diocese.

The all-boys Catholic high school was established by Bishop Francis William Howard in 1925. The 32-member freshman class occupied the Mother of God School on W. Sixth Street in Covington until a new building could be completed. Today, the school's campus. located in Park Hills, consists of 30 acres, with an enrollment of more than 500 students.

As the photos show here, this is an impressive group of young men who are being shaped and prepared to live the Gospel. Congratulations!
