world day of prayer is march 1

Friday, March 1, is the World Day of Prayer. This is an international program developed by women of multiple faiths in Canada and the United States in the late 1900s. It has since expanded to hundreds of countries. The theme for this year is, “I beg you, Bear With One Another in Love.” This is drawn from St. Paul’s Letter to the Ephesians. How appropriate is this theme, in a time when acceptance and tolerance of other people is at a low point in our relationships with one another in our country, and between our country and those in other countries.
Take some time to lift your heart to God in prayer, asking Him to teach us how to better love, accept, and work with others to build a better world.
