congratulations, freddie!

Freddie Caldwell and Mary Catherine Kelly
This Sunday, Freddie Caldwell, a member of Mother of God Church, will be officially received into the Church and will be confirmed and make his First Holy Communion. He had been scheduled to enter the Church at the Easter Vigil, but because I was sick and could not be there, he asked to come in at a different time, when I could be there. I was very touched by that.
Freddie is a senior at Covington Catholic, so he has had a fuller education in the Catholic faith than most of those who go through a regular OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults, the new name for the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults). He is a wonderful young man, and I believe he is wonderful addition to our Catholic and Mother of God families.
