Notre Dame Urban Education Center is seeking adult volunteers to tutor children in grades K-8 one day a week in the Homework Plus Program, which runs Monday through Thursday, from 3 pm–5 pm (openings available every day). Tutors provide homework assistance, reading and writing support, and help with educational skill-building activities. The program begins Tuesday, Sept. 8, and runs through Thursday, May 13, 2027. Bishop John Iffert will preside over the Mass of Belonging on Tuesday, Sept. 15, at 6 pm, at the Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption. This is a special Mass intended to create a sense of belonging in our diocese, parishes, and Catholic schools for those with learning differences and disabilities. AL-Anon holds their Wednesday noon meetings at Mother of God Church. Enter through the courtyard and go down the steps to the undercroft of the church. Al-Anon has but one purpose: to help families and friends of alcoholics and addicted ones.

Parents of Addicted Loved Ones (PAL) meets the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month, from 6:30 to 8 pm, at Catholic Charities. It provides continuing education and support, at no charge, for parents with a son, daughter or spouse suffering from addiction to alcohol or drugs. No cost. Just come.
