invite a friend to christmas mass

Do you have family members who no longer attend Mass regularly? What about friends? Or how about people you know who are not Catholic, but who are not going to church anywhere? I am sure that you do, as do I.

Would you consider inviting one or more of these people to join you at Christmas Mass this year? Non-church goers state that the #1 reason they do not attend church is because no one has invited them. Let’s do something about that!

Sit down and prayerfully consider whom you might want to invite. Ask the Lord to guide you to recognize who might actually be most open to such an invitation. Take time to pray for that person, couple or family. Pray for them daily. And ask the Lord to give you the courage to call them up, or to ask them face to face, to join you at one of our Christmas Masses. You may be rejected, but so what? Jesus was rejected many times. But He just kept reaching out. And that is what I hope you will do. If your target says, “No,” think of another person and pray for them and invite them.

We are sowing seeds. As Jesus told us in the Parable of the Sower, some seed will take root and grow, and some will not. But we keep sowing.

Masses for Christmas are at 4:30 pm on Christmas Eve, and at 9:30 am and 11:30 am on Christmas Day.
