Despite the brutal heat, Mother of God parishioners came out to support the Contemporary Ensemble as they performed at Praise Fest last Saturday. The diocesan event was held on the ballfield at St. Phillip Church in Melbourne, KY. Attendees did their best to find shelter in the shade. Thankfully, there was a steady breeze that made the temperature more bearable, and many sang along to the music.

Several groups were on the roster to play, including Dan Walsh & Friends and local Christian recording artist Lee Roessler. Bishop Iffert celebrated Mass outside at 4:30 pm.

The hope is to make Praise Fest an annual event.
