prayer team excited for the future

Members of the Mother of God Prayer Team (about half are pictured here) find connection and purpose in their ministry.
On Tuesday, Dec. 10, Mother of God's Prayer Team gathered for Mass and a potluck lunch to celebrate a milestone—their 1-year anniversary.
The ministry started out humbly enough with a request for volunteers going out to the parish from Mary Ann Kelly, pastoral assistant. She received a handful of responses at first, but just one year later, the group has grown to almost 40 members.
"We have received hundreds of prayer intentions via personal requests, the prayer intention book in the back of church and the parish website," said Mary Ann. "We also pray for those who are on our sick list. In addition, this group has served the parish by sending cards and helping run the Day of Prayer and Reflection that we held in October. We are excited to see where 2025 takes us."
The Prayer Team's ministry is unique in that people of all abilities can participate, whether they are homebound, have small children, aging parents or difficult work schedules. All you need is a willingness to pray.
