Envisioning phase is complete

Mother of God has completed the Envisioning Phase of the With One Heart Program. The Envisioning Team developed three major priorities that the parish will focus on over the next few years to ensure that we are carrying out our mission in alignment with our Parish Purpose Statement.
The priorities are as follows:
Under each priority, the Envisioning Team created two goals. You will be hearing more details about these goals and how we will be inviting you to participate in achieving them in the coming weeks.
Fr. Comer has assembled an Implementation Team, who will have approximately 18 months to put the priorities and goals into action. They will meet for the first time this Monday, Nov. 6.
This is an exciting time for Mother of God. We have an opportunity to be thoughtful in designing our future as a parish, so we are able to carry out the Gospel for many years to come. Please pray for success in these efforts and consider how you would like to participate in this meaningful work.
The priorities are as follows:
- Sustainability. We aim to be financially stable so we can support the ministerial and operational needs of the parish, as well as future growth. We will also develop lay leadership, both paid and volunteer, so they can be prepared to support our current and future pastors and/or parish administrators.
- Faith Formation. We want to make sure every member of the parish has opportunities to grow in their faith and in their lives as disciples of Jesus Christ. As disciples, we will also learn how to bring the message of Jesus to the world.
- Engagement. In addition to attending Sunday Mass, we want every member of Mother of God to become an integral part of our parish. This includes participation in parish activities/ministries, as well as playing a supportive role in the community. The idea is to build connections and relationships and make the world a better, more loving place.
