implementation team hosts briefing session

Mother of God parish staff, along with Finance Council, Parish Council and ministry leaders, gathered in the undercroft on Saturday morning, Sept. 28, to learn more about the progress we’ve made on achieving our With One Heart priorities and goals.

Members of the Implementation Team presented their work on Sustainability, Faith Formation and Engagement. After the presentations, parish staff, council members and ministry leaders met individually with priority teams to ask questions and offer feedback.

Participants voiced concerns about the future of our parish when the time comes for Fr. Comer to retire, given the shortage of priests. It’s unclear what will happen, but this uncertainty reinforces the need for our parish to have a well-thought-out continuity plan and active involvement by our staff and volunteers to strengthen our community.

What was overwhelmingly evident during the three-hour meeting was the love and care so many people have for Mother of God parish. Look for more opportunities to participate in activities and events designed to enhance your spiritual, intellectual and social life and spread the Gospel to our neighbors.
