Happy Father's Day

Happy Father’s Day to our dads, to grandads, to foster dads, and to all men who play out a father role in the life of all children. Yours is often a thankless job. Moms get far more attention and expressions of gratitude. But it is so important that you dads are present and active in the lives of your sons and daughters.
   
Our culture does not recognize the significance of dads.  But our prisons are full of men and women who share one very important fact of life. They grew up without a positive, active and present father or father figure.

Children without a father are more likely to grow up in poverty, to become involved in drugs and crime. Dads provide a stability that it is difficult for a single mom to do on their own.
   
This Sunday, we acclaim you, we thank you, and we appreciate you.
