Exercise Your Right Prayerfully

Tuesday of this week is Election Day. One of the most important rights that you and I have as Americans is the right to vote. Obviously, our attention is most focused on the presidential election, but as we know there are many other state and local elections. As part of the Diocese of Covington, we are encouraged to Vote Yes on 2, Amendment 2, which will allow the governor and the Congress to discuss finding ways to give support to our Catholic schools, and other private schools.
   
I am concerned, and I think that some of you are as well, how the nation will react to the results of the election. We are very divided as a nation, and some are willing to use violence to protest the results, whatever they may be.

Pray that God will bless the American people so that they will choose the candidates who are best for our country, states, and local offices. And pray that whatever the results, we, as a nation, will seek to come together for the sake of our common future.
