Called to Follow
Jan. 14, 2024
The Gospel for this Sunday is the account of the day after Jesus was baptized. John the Baptist was standing by the river Jordan talking to two of his disciples. Jesus walked by, and John pointed at Him and said, “Behold the Lamb of God.”
The two disciples then left John and followed Jesus, which is what they should have done. If you are following someone who you think is the Lamb of God, and he points to someone else and says that he is the Lamb of God, the only thing to do is to abandon the one you have been following and follow the new guy.
They do follow Jesus, and He asked them what they wanted. He then invites them to follow Him.
Jesus invites all of us to follow Him as well. Have we said, “Yes”?
