An Important and Powerful Prayer
Oct. 6, 2024
October is a very special month for the Church, as it is the Month of the Holy Rosary. This Monday is the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary.
Almost every saint and pope of the last 300 years have stated that the rosary is the most important prayer that we have, after the Mass. It is a powerful form of prayer that leads us into a deep meditation on the life of Jesus and Mary, as we reflect on the mysteries of the rosary. As we pray, we are immersed into the various scenes of the Gospel stories.
As you are undoubtably aware, I am a major promoter of the rosary. I encourage couples to pray the rosary together, families to pray the rosary together, engaged couples to pray the rosary together, and friends and others to pray the rosary together. Jesus teaches us that when two or more are gathered in His name to pray, that prayer has great power.
Throughout the month, I will address various aspects of the rosary.
